My celebration began on Thursday night when my mom treated all of us to Monarch for dinner. They were having a charity event that was scheduled to draw almost 500 people, more than New Year's Eve or Valentine's Day. Our reservations were at 8:45, and we still waited for our table, but that was the only complaint I had. The food was excellent and we got special treatment from the new manager, Matt McGuire, former owner of King Louie's and old family friend. This meal started a truly gluttonous weekend for which I will be paying for quite some time.
Teresa lighting the candles:
It was so pretty, I almost didn't want to eat it!
I also wanted to thank my mom for letting all of us get drunk at her house and for making pork tenderloin. I don't eat meat, so everyone would have been stuck eating veggie sandwiches if it weren't for her!
I want to thank everyone who made me feel so special on my birthday, from phone calls to cards, messages on Facebook, and in person.
